Le Camion de Sophie

Le Camion de Sophie parks just down the street from our apartment. I was heading to the bakery as I wanted to pick up two mini quiches for dinner. So startled I was to see an ardoise (menu board) on the sidewalk where there usually is nothing but doggie poop I almost tripped over my feet. I excitedly called D, who was back at the apartment, to ask him if he’d prefer having a burger for dinner. If he had said he wanted a quiche…

D ordered the “basic” burger but I got all fancy and opted for le grilled (with pancetta, oignons confits and barbecue sauce). Of course, we ordered fries with them.

Regretfully Thankfully, the burger truck is only there on Thursday afternoons and evenings because it was a very good burger. The burger was juicy, the bun was soft and fresh, and the topping were sumptuous. The fries were delicious albeit a little salty for me. D and I opted for mayonnaise to dip our fries in but I was tempted by the curry-mango dip. Next time. Yes, there will be a next time.

A new hamburger shop recently opened just down the street from me. These guys got it right. It’s more than I can stand some nights, walking past it with the wonderful smells. They too have the perfect buns and they will order extra for me when I’m making hamburgers at home.

I love a good, juicy burger. I don’t know if I could resist walking past a good burger joint every day. Just thinking about it makes me hungry for one now.

I can always count on you to twig me to a good spot. We don’t get out much when we’re home so I have yet to try Voile Rouge. I just looked at their menu though and I think I need to go…if only for their sweet potato fries.
